Workcation: The perfect way to kick off a new year

David Hajdu

There's something truly special about embarking on a workcation. It’s not just about getting away from the usual home setup; it’s a thoughtful move into a space designed for focus and getting things done. I’m super excited for 2025, even though the next few weeks are packed with activities. My dad is coming to visit Saigon, we’re wrapping up year-end financials, I’m heading to an offsite with global EO board members, and I’ll be spending a couple of days with a friend who’s also my biggest client. January is definitely going to fly by.

Workcation: Office with a View

To handle all the hustle, I headed to Vung Tau for a workcation. My routine here is all about simple pleasures and high productivity. I wake up at 5 a.m. and start with some journaling to let my thoughts settle. Then, I plan out my day while making my way to the breakfast area where the coffee is quietly brewing, ready to kickstart my morning.

There’s something refreshing about the calm of a dining area before everyone else wakes up—it’s like a silent partner in my creativity and focus. With plenty of coffee in hand, I dive into four solid hours of work, finding clarity and depth in what I’m doing.

By late morning, it’s time for the gym and sauna—a perfect break for both mind and body. Feeling refreshed, I jump back into another work session, tackling tasks with a clear and sharp mind. Before I know it, the afternoon is here, and I’ve achieved more than I usually would at home.

As the day turns into evening, I take a simple walk that smoothly transitions me into a couple more hours of learning. This relaxing routine helps ideas settle and lets my mind drift toward creativity.

Dinner is a quiet, reflective time to enjoy the day’s accomplishments and start winding down for the night, getting ready for another restful sleep.

This routine has become my go-to way to stay balanced and productive amidst the daily chaos, making sure I can keep up with everything while still finding peace.
